Toronto International Film Festival – TIFF

Toronto Theatres

If you are coming for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and have some spare time between films we can help you make the most it. There are a couple of ways to use our services:

  • Taking one of our free walking tours at 1pm Wednesdays thru Sundays. We’ll show you our favourite places to eat and drink while teaching you about the facinating history and points of interest in Toronto.
  • Hire a Tour Guy as a private guide to show you the best this city has to offer. We are available to do tours for groups or individuals.

We’re film buffs ourselves and know where many movies were filmed in Toronto (and Vancouver too). Spend some time with us – you’ll be glad you did!

Educational Tours and School Trips

Entertaining and educational Toronto and Vancouver tours!

We’re offering our walking tours and tour guide services to teachers and tour companies who plan educational tours and field trips for their students. We’ve taken thousands of students on trips and we know how to entertain and enlighten them. We’ve seen other tour guides fail to engage students properly and it made us sad – seeing the students stare off into space or at the ground while the professorly guide relays “dry” info that is obviously very interesting to them and perhaps a handful of historians… not to teenagers.

Visit our Educational Tours page

We deliver the information teachers want to convey while keeping the students engaged while they learn. Tours should be fun! Our tours are very fun because we designed them to be that way and to inspire young people to continue traveling and learning throughout their lives.

If you are a teacher planning a trip to Toronto or Vancouver, we can help. If you have a favourite tour company you deal with you can still demand our services though them! If you are a tour company, we’re at your service!

Top 10 things to do in Toronto

Tour Guys CN Tower

I have put together a list of the top 10 things I like to do in Toronto. I have left out the big festivals and once-a-year events, because unless you plan to be here while they are happening, they would be of little use to you on this list. Perhaps a future article on the top festivals and events in the city will appear here.

Top 10 Things to do in Toronto (in no particular order)…

  1. Take the ferry to the Toronto Islands for a picnic
  2. Check out the dinosaurs and more at the Royal Ontario Museum
  3. Wander the streets of Kensington Market and snack on food from around the world (after one of our tours of course!)
  4. Eat a butter tart and/or peameal bacon sandwich at St. Lawrence Market
  5. Pop by Mill St Brew Pub for a brewrey tour and sampling at 3pm
  6. Brunch at Chez Cora’s or Eggspectations
  7. Dinner and drinks at C’est What? (or Old Spaghetti Factory with kids)
  8. Zip to the top of the CN tower and jump on the glass floor
  9. An improv show at the Bad Dog Theatre
  10. Stand-up or sketch comedy at the Rivoli on Monday and Tuesday nights, Spirits Bar on Wednesday nights, or the Comedy Bar any night.

If you have done any of these things, tell us what you thought (or not)! Whatever you do, get out there and enjoy Toronto!
